USH Freight FZE is well recommended by Mohamed Osman of GPLN member Darka in Sudan of which they have moved quite a bit of large volume cargo together.  USH Freight also has a specialty in air charter for project cargo and they are quite active in this market.  Much of their clientele are in the oil & gas industry where they move heavy cargo by all modes throughout the Arabian Peninsula – most recently moving large land rigs in Oman and Qatar.  USH Freight also has a joint-venture for lashing and securing with Dutch based Pronk Multiservice BV.

I look forward to hearing about USH Freight working with other GPLN members very soon!

Thocomar Shipping Agency will be a great addition to GPLN as their membership goes very well with our push into Africa.  Besides getting four good references from well known companies on three separate continents I have also met the managing director, Mr. Michel Thoumas, in both Antwerp and in Dakar and spoken with him about his company in detail.  I also have met other companies, both in Africa and Europe who speak highly of Thocomar’s capabilities in a difficult market such as Senegal.  Thocomar not only handles cargo in Senegal but can also act as a transshipment partner for project cargo going to Mali, Mauretania, Gambia and Guinea.  In addition to Thocomar being a new member of GPLN, they are also members in Multiport, BIMCO, Intertanko and FONASBA.

I look forward to hearing about Thocomar Shipping working with other GPLN members very soon!

SIFA Projets is the project arm of Paris based SIFA Group.  The SIFA Group was founded in July 1951 and the transports and logistics departments started in 1973.  SIFA’s challenge was to create a massive network of 100% owned subsidiaries not only in France but also in the French West Indies (Martinique and Guadaloupe), French Guiana, Indian Ocean (Reunion), New Caledonia and also Brazil.  All SIFA subsidiaries have their own bonded warehouse which constitutes full integrated equipments to propose global logistics products to customers.

Also, a bit of trivia…  The Paris commune where SIFA Projets is based, Les Ulis, is the birthplace and hometown of Thierry Henry!

I hope to see Didier Harant in Tunis for our upcoming annual meeting!
