Wilhelmsen Ships Service, GPLN member in Kuwait, recently completed an interesting move comprising of the delivery of a land based oil rig and camp units from Kuwait to the South Rumailah Oilfield in Iraq. This consisted of high, wide and heavy loads transported using an assortment of flat beds, low beds and truck heads for towable units with a 137 truck loads delivered in total which included cross loading of all the cargo from Kuwaiti to Iraqi trucks at the Safwan border. This move is part of a new South Oil Company contract for drilling of oil wells in Southern Iraq.
